Moths are having a moment.

Bear with me as I geek out about moths – and know that yes, this goes back to skincare. Just be a little patient, reader!

Conan Gray just announced his world tour alongside bülow and Mallrat with this photo of a bright green luna moth projected onto his bare chest. Promo images for Lil Nas X’s debut album “MONTERO” featured painted butterflies (a close cousin of the moth) on his chest. Finally, The Weeknd’s just put out a new song called “Moth to a Flame,” in collaboration with Swedish House Mafia.

Unlike what we may deem as nuisance insects, the moth is beautiful and deserves our attention. Take for instance, the luna moth, known as the “goddess of the moon.”

These pale green nocturnal creatures blend into the leaves on a tree, evading capture by hungry bats thanks to their visible camouflage. Luna moths spend their entire lives—typically one week—in a perpetual state of transformation, from egg to caterpillar to pupa to adult.

Their beauty goes largely unnoticed under the cover of night. Luna moths live a life in the shadows, attracted to the light of the moon, but at the same time, afraid to be seen.

Much like luna moth’s metamorphosis, our skin is also in a perpetual state of transformation. The skin is a living, breathing organ with a big job to do: protect us from the harsh outside world. Your skin is constantly battling against things like hormonal changes, bacteria, sun damage, and more. Sometimes, your skin falters under the weight of such a big responsibility and strong outside forces.

When your skin gets overwhelmed, like we all do, breakouts and blemishes can and do occur. It’s a normal part of the skin’s transformation process, but the sudden onset of a pimple is enough to make anyone feel like they want to hide under a blanket of darkness, afraid to be seen. Afraid to step into the light.

good light, a skincare brand from Very Good Light, wants to help your skin recover faster from blemishes so you can move onto the next phase in your skincare journey. Today, the brand announced the launch of Luna Pimple Patches, a set of 24 fast-acting, non-drying vegan hydrocolloid patches in two sizes ($8.50 for 24 patches).

Like the short life cycle of a luna moth, Luna Pimple Patches shorten the life of your pimple, and are clinically proven to absorb all pimple fluids and shrink blemishes in hours, leaving behind clear and smooth skin.

The tea

Luna Pimple Patches are made of vegan hydrocolloid attached to rippable PET plastic, which is completely recyclable. PET plastic is the most recycled plastic in the U.S and worldwide. More than 1.5 billion pounds of used PET bottles and containers are recovered in the United States each year for recycling.

Luna Pimple Patches contain a total of 24 patches per sheet in two different sizes: 12x12mm and 12x10mm. They’re also sold in a box set with 72 total patches. Each PET plastic sheet comes with a pre-cut line down the middle of each row, which is designed to make it easier for consumers to remove and apply the patch to their skin. This “rip and stick” method is a quick and easy way to patch one or multiple pimples.

Luna Pimple Patches are available for $8.50 for a 1-pack that contains 24 patches, or $21 for a 3-pack that contains 72 patches ($17 w/ a subscription). Each pack contains two sizes: 10mm (12) and 12mm (12) – Fast-acting, non-drying vegan hydrocolloid patches clinically proven to absorb all pimple fluids, shrink your blemishes in hours, and leave behind clear and smooth skin.

How to use

After cleansing and drying the skin, apply a patch to cover your blemish. Leave on until the opaque patch turns white. Luna Pimple Patches are hydrocolloid patches, which have been used prominently in the medical community since the 1980’s for wound healing. Hydrocolloid acne patches first became popularized in Korea and Asia in the late 2000s, and in the past few years have exploded in popularity here in the US.

Hydrocolloid patches work by absorbing fluid from the pimple (gross but true) while keeping the skin around it moist, which is important for speeding up the healing process. The outer layer of the hydrocolloid patch traps the fluids and forms a seal to protect the wound from bacterial contamination, which could aggravate the pimple further. For best results, wear each Luna Pimple Patch for a minimum of six hours or use overnight.

These stunning luna pimple patches are available now, exclusively at goodlight.world.
