What the VGL editors are getting from the Sephora VIB sale
From now until the 11th, it is Sephora’s annual VIB sale. Depending on your standing within their loyalty program, you can save anywhere from 10–20% (with code SAVESPRING) on things that you maybe normally would have deemed too fancy or too expensive to splurge on.
There’s some pricey stuff ahead, but look — The Sephora VIB sale is like Honda’s Honda Days Sales event for beauty people. If you want it, I’m not going to tell you to live your life. I’m not your real dad! Keep an eye on this post. We'll update it with new finds as we come across them.
What to buy from the Sephora VIB sale
La Mer anything
Using luxury beauty products is like wearing cashmere undergarments — they elevate and enhance otherwise very mundane experiences (moisturizing and wearing panties, respectively). If you’ve ever wanted to dip your toes into the world of La Mer, now’s the time! I use The Treatment Lotion, a watery toner/lotion, to add a plumping layer of hydration before sealing it in with an oil. I also like to hoard a tiny stash of Crème de la Mer Moisturizer to gift to loved ones during milestone events, like birthdays or conceiving children. –Or Gotham
Juliette Has a Gun Not A Perfume
Okay, so I don’t own this now, but I bought the travel size over a year ago and haven’t been able to find anything quite like it. As with most fragrances, it’s expensive, so if I’m ever going to buy the full size, now’s the time. –Nicole Swiggard
As someone who strives to look alive, this bright mattifying powder is just what I need for setting my undereyes. Did I take two trains to Williamsburg just to get it? Yes, I did. –Isis Gutierrez
K18 Hair Mask
We’ve said it before (and we’ll say it again!): this leave-in mask works. Period, full-stop, end of sentence. –OG
A Gucci lipstick
Contributing writer and chic woman Utibe Mbagwu is already is a fan of Mona Lisa Cameo. Let me count the ways that I aspire to be like her… –OG
Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
For anyone who hasn’t tried this, I’m fairly sure this citrusy, white floral scent is what Glossier’s Body Hero fragrance was based on. Neroli Portofino, I’m also fairly positive, is based on 4711, a German fragrance first made in the 1700s, that JFK purportedly wore. (One of his flames reported having to wash it off herself after they did the dirty-dirty.) –OG
A big-ass tube of fan-favorite Summer Fridays’ Jet Lag Mask
The mask that sent the internet ablaze when it launched in 2017 can be used as a wash-off treatment or layered thinly for all-day hydration. Plus, it’s recently been reformulated to be more gentle on more skin types. –OG
Clinique Black Honey
You know the one. –OG
Armani Beauty Eyes to Kill Waterproof Mascara
After noticing that practically every celebrity on Vogue’s Beauty Secrets uses this mascara, I had to buy it. Though it’s noticeably more expensive than my typical Maybelline tubes, it’s so worth it. I will be stocking up this week. –NS
Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant
Unsurprisingly, this is one of my staple skincare products. Everyone loves it — I’m not original, I know. But it’s for good reason. Your skin will thank you for this one. –NS
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
Okay, remember in middle school (?), when did that experiment where you dropped a raisin in a glass of water and it turned back into a grape? This petroleum-free lip mask can do that, but for your kisser. I like the Vanilla flavor. –OG
